肌肉鍛鍊確實攸關健康,腿部肌肉較發達者也確實較不容易受傷,但此訊息含有諸多錯誤觀念。

1. 《Prevention》僅為保健類別的訊息平台,並非醫學實證的雜誌,且近期《Prevention》報導的兩則「長壽跡象」中,第一名分別為「出生時母親的年齡」與「身體活躍度」,不是文中提及的「腿部肌肉」。

2. 人體的肌肉約有200種、650條,其中約有70%集中在下半身,而非50%。而人體的骨骼共有206塊,下肢僅含62塊,數量並非50%。

3. 老年髖部骨折後一年內的死亡率高達12-20%,大腿骨骨折則為10-25%,但其餘部位骨折死亡率則不會如此高。

古籍《黃帝內經》提到:「人之衰老始於足。」美國前總統艾森豪的心臟外科醫師也說:「腳是人的第二心臟!」
要警覺的是,腳的症狀不見得只是單純的腳傷,可能預警身體其他潛在的危機。
朱家宏提醒,腳過熱,可能痛風發作或感染。腳過冷,可能是血管不通、神經痛。
